Ben Swesey was riding his motorcycle when he attempted to avoid an oncoming Toyota RAV4 driving by pulling onto Lawrence Avenue from 12th Street. This action caused an accident when his motorcycle collided with the car and was thrown from it.

He was transported immediately by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital following his accident, while his co-conspirator did not require medical treatment. Ben’s injuries were severe, and surgery would soon follow.
